Product Updates
Calendar (Open Alpha) is live today
Calendar arrives on your platform today, as announced on 26 August. It is a drag-and-drop planning board for events that already exist: move an event to another day, swap an instructor, fix resource bookings and clear conflicts, all in one view, with conflicts recalculated as you work.
How to see it
Select Training > Calendar in the main menu, where it carries a purple ALPHA badge.
Access is permission-controlled, and neither permission is granted to any role to begin with, so an administrator needs to add them before your team can open it:
- Calendar - View opens the Calendar. Without it the menu item stays hidden, so that is the first thing to check if you cannot see it.
- Calendar - Edit allows changes to be made and saved. With view but not edit you get the full Calendar in read-only form: every view, filter and issue count works, but nothing can be dragged, edited or saved.
Worth knowing before you start
- Changes you save are real changes to your events, so use it with the same care as any editing tool.
- Edits are held as pending until you select Save and confirm them in the review list. Revert discards every unsaved change without asking, so save before you step away.
- Saving is not all-or-nothing. If some changes fail, the ones that already succeeded stay applied, the failed ones stay pending with the error, and you can retry them.
- Events cannot be created or deleted here, so create them in the Scheduler or the TMS first. Session times cannot be edited either, only whole-event day moves.
- An "Experimental Feature" notice appears once per browser session. That is on purpose, so you always know where things stand.
It is early and still evolving, and your feedback genuinely shapes where it goes. The full walkthrough is in Calendar (alpha).
Other Updates
- The Scheduler pre-check now reports plan setup problems, such as a schedule with no allowed day or a Course with no Session schedule, before a solve runs.
- You can now register an existing Learner on an Event from the LMS, paying by price, Training Tokens or Training Pass.
- Contact detail pages backed by an individual Account now redirect to the corresponding Account page.
- The Account Private Events grid now shows dates, Personnel, Location, status, invoice and revenue, with Registrations and Private Events split into subtabs.
- The pricing shortcut on a Course Template now opens the newer price levels page, with the previous page still reachable at /PriceLevels.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed calendar integration tokens expiring before slower Calendar Sync API calls could complete, which made those calls fail.
- Fixed the LMS Private Training filters so ad hoc Locations, private Courses and their Sessions now appear in the catalogue and Session modal.
- Fixed Custom Fields on Account and Contact forms being forced into label order instead of their configured order.
- Fixed Report editing not checking permissions, so a user with only the "Reports - Own" permission can no longer edit or rename another user's Report.
- Fixed duplicating a Course Template silently dropping its Tags and every per-locale translated custom field value.
- Fixed errors when editing attendance for an Event with no Sessions loaded, refusing a Contact merge, and updating a cart line the cart no longer holds.
- Fixed Event duplication failing under lock contention, fractional Opportunity interest quantities crashing pricing, and report columns drawing several values now reporting a clear error.
- Fixed pages failing for a Contact stored without a name, which now returns an empty name instead.
- Fixed links between articles in the in-app release notes leading to a 404 rather than the Help Centre article.
