Course Template sessions now show the day they really run on
Take a Monday to Friday course with three morning sessions that repeat every 2 days:
| Before | Now | |
|---|---|---|
| Days shown on the template's Schedule tab | 1, 2, 3 | 1, 3, 5 |
| When the sessions run, for an Event starting on a Monday | Monday, Wednesday, Friday | Monday, Wednesday, Friday |
The sessions always ran on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. But the template labelled them Day 1, 2 and 3, which was only their order in the list. Wednesday's session showed as Day 2, even though Wednesday is the third day of the course.
When you create sessions now, each session's Day is the day of the course it runs on, so Wednesday's session shows as Day 3. Because the Day is real, you can now:
- Add a second session on the same day. Create a session on Day 3 and it runs on Wednesday, next to the morning session.
- Leave gaps between days. Sessions on Days 1, 3 and 5 leave Tuesday and Thursday free.
When you create an Event from that template starting on Monday 9 November, the sessions land exactly where the Days say. Creating Events, the Planner and Schedule a Course all use the same Day.
What to expect:
- Days count only the days the course runs on. On a Monday to Friday course, Day 6 is the following Monday, not Saturday.
- Your existing Course Templates stay as they are. Their sessions don't change, and new Events created from them land on the same dates as before. A template only switches to the new Days when you regenerate its sessions with Bulk Create Sessions. Events you've already created never change.
- Check the dates after regenerating. Once you regenerate a template with Bulk Create Sessions, new Events can get different dates in two cases:
- Daily schedules with a gap on part of the week, such as a Monday to Friday course repeating every 2 days. The gap used to count calendar days, so the pattern drifted over weekends. It now counts course days, so the sessions run Monday, Wednesday, Friday, then Tuesday and Thursday of the next week.
- Weekly schedules with a gap, for Events created from the classic Course Template pages, such as a course repeating every 2 weeks. Those pages used to step through the gap day by day instead of week by week, so their Events could get different dates from the rest of Administrate. They now use the same dates everywhere.
Product Updates
- Added a Push to Xero action on finalised invoices that aren't in Xero yet, so you can resend an invoice whose earlier push failed.
- Finalising an invoice now sends it straight to Xero.
- You can now create an invoice from a Sales Order with Create Invoice in the Actions menu. The invoice copies the order's details and lines and gets its own invoice number.
- You can now email a Sales Order from its page using the Invoice template.
- The Account shown on pages such as an invoice is now a link, so you can jump straight to it.
- When choosing an Event on Invoice Items, more Events load as you scroll, each shows its start date, and you can filter by Event Starts From and Event Ends By.
- The Event Audit tab and Reports now record changes to an Event's Location, Instructors, delivery mode and Resources, showing the previous and new values.
- Changes to Learners and Registrations are now audited, and the Registration page shows who last changed it and when.
- You can now change the Contact on a Learner's Registration. When choosing a price, the Event's default price level is selected for you.
- Added a Due column to the task list showing how long is left before each Task is due.
- Data imports can now clear a field: enter
<empty>in the cell. The mapping step shows which columns support this. - Custom Field choices now keep the same API ID when you rename them, so integrations still recognise the option after its label changes.
- If a Session has its own online meeting link, the Student Portal, calendar feeds and Docebo now use it. Sessions without one still use the Event's link. Session meeting links are also available through the API.
- Docebo settings now include Certification Sync, which sends Achievements to Docebo as certifications.
- When a Docebo connection fails, the message now explains why, such as an unreachable domain or rejected credentials.
- When registering Learners through the API, you can now choose to take the communication contact and cc recipients from the Registration's Account.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed Transfer Student being hidden for Learners cancelled by an Event cancellation, so they can be transferred again.
- Fixed the LMS Content table missing from classroom Event outlines, which hid content copied from the Course Template.
- Fixed invoices and Credit Notes not showing their Xero number and when they last synced.
- Fixed reconnecting to Xero failing.
- Fixed invoice lines disappearing when their stock item no longer exists.
- Fixed uploaded documents sometimes not being saved. The folder now refreshes after a successful upload.
- Fixed prices being treated as coming from a price template when the template has no currency.
- Fixed some Registration audit history being lost.
- Fixed the same Contact being accepted more than once when allocating places on a Learning Path.
- Fixed shared custom Document Templates being removed when one of the resource types using them was deleted.
- Fixed Events and Learning Paths without a Location causing errors in WebLink and storefront filters. If you have a custom integration, note that an Event's Location can be empty.
- Fixed Event images not displaying.
- Fixed an unstyled page briefly appearing when signing in. You now go straight to your identity provider.
