Use this article to add students to an event as part of a booking or registration workflow. This path is useful when enrollment is being created through a booking process rather than by manually adding students directly to the event.
In Administrate, adding a student through booking or registration creates the learner’s enrollment record and connects that learner to the relevant event. Once saved, the learner appears on the event through their booking.
Add students through booking
- Open the relevant event or booking workflow.
- Create a new booking for the learner or learners being enrolled.
- Add the correct student or students to the booking.
- Review the event, learner, and enrollment details carefully before saving.
- Confirm the booking.
- Save the booking.
After the booking is saved, the student is enrolled on the event through that booking record. From there, the learner can be managed through the normal booking lifecycle.
Add students through registration workflows
Some students are added through registration workflows rather than direct administrator action. Depending on your setup, registration may happen through a portal, WebLink flow, approval process, or another configured registration path.
- Registration creates the learner’s booking.
- The booking links the learner to the event.
- Operational and financial follow-up then happens through the booking record.
If both manual enrollment and registration workflows are being used at the same time, take care to avoid duplicate bookings for the same learner.
What to check after saving
- Confirm the learner appears on the correct event.
- Confirm the correct learner was added.
- Confirm the booking was created successfully.
- Review the booking status if your workflow depends on confirmation or approval.
- Check for any related financial or registration behavior expected by your process.
Common issues
- The wrong learner was added to the booking.
- The learner was added to the wrong event.
- A duplicate booking was created through another registration path.
- The booking saved, but the learner does not appear where expected.
- The registration workflow created a booking state that needs further review.
