New Updates to Resource Management
We’ve made significant improvements to the Resource page to create a more intuitive user experience:
- Improved Management workflow on Events
- Enhanced Calendar View
- Conflict Detection
Manage Resources on Events
When adding Resources to an Event, you'll find a list of Resources, with those available conveniently listed at the top. Furthermore, you'll be able to filter based on the resource name, type, and Location, which by default, is set to the Event's location.
You can multi-select to add the needed resources. When, "Add resources to required sessions only" is selected (the default), resources are only assigned to the sessions that require them.
The resource list includes both available and unavailable resources, such as those that have already been booked during this time. These bookings may be internal or external. You can click the arrow to expand and view the booking details. If needed, you can still choose to book the resource, but the system will show you a conflict indicator.
If you have two-way sync enabled for calendars, your resource bookings are also synced with an external calendar system (for instance, Microsoft or Google). This is reflected when you open the modal. Any booking made is then synced back to the external calendar. You will see a calendar icon next to the resource name if the resource is synced. This icon is also displayed throughout the system to show which resources have 2-way-sync enabled.
Enhanced Calendar View
The 'Time Zone' column has been removed, and booking times are now shown in the user’s local time zone. You can still access the original booking times by hovering over the respective row and quickly opening related events with a single click.
Conflict Detection
The dashboard now highlights issues with resources, such as missing resources, booking conflicts, or location mismatches. Unmet requirements are marked in red to match the color scheme of the Dashboard and Event header widgets.
If there are any issues with booked resources, you’ll see an issue counter next to the resource name. Hover over the counter to view a tooltip that explains the specific issue.
Retirement Notice: Legacy Sign-In Sheets
As a reminder, we will be retiring legacy sign-in sheet functionality on October 2nd, 2024.
We encourage you to switch to our improved, Customizable Sign-In Sheets, which offer the same functionality as the legacy version, with added benefits. With these new sheets, you can create and customize forms, apply different styles, and easily print or send them via email to suit your needs.
We provided a default template for Sign-In Sheets - see Document Templates - so you can begin using it immediately without any setup. You will also have the option to create new templates, upload existing templates, and more, and we will keep you updated with further details on this transition.
Reports
-
We resolved an error that was recently introduced which caused filtering in Reports with UTF-8 characters to sometimes fail
TMS
-
We updated the custom field of type Email to correctly validate email inputs, now allowing non-alphanumeric characters
-
We resolved an issue that allowed the Scheduler to create events despite existing resource conflicts
-
We resolved an issue where changing the capitalization or whitespace in the label of a custom field would throw an error; labels now update correctly
- We resolved an issue where duplicating an Event did not correctly copy assigned resources to the sessions; this functionality now works as intended
