Overview

Associated Accounts let you link Course Templates and Learning Paths to accounts in your Administrate instance. This allows you to organize learning content by business relationships such as sponsors, partners, or internal stakeholders.

Course Templates and Learning Paths can be linked to any account in your instance using configurable Association Types. These associations are flexible and can be defined to match your organization’s structure and reporting needs.

Course Templates and Learning Paths can be linked to one or more accounts using configurable Association Types. These associations help with:

  • Organizing content by account relationships
  • Filtering and reporting on learning activity
  • Supporting account-based analysis and management

Association Types are fully configurable. For example, you might create types such as Sponsor, Partner, or Client.

Create association types

Association Types are managed from the Administrate Control Panel.

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Select Account Association Types.
  3. Add new association types or remove existing ones as needed.

These types determine how accounts can be linked to Course Templates and Learning Paths.

Assign an account association

Once association types are configured, you can link accounts to content.

  1. Open the relevant Course Template or Learning Path.
  2. Go to the Personnel tab.
  3. Add or remove account associations using the available association types.

A single piece of content can have multiple associated accounts.

Reporting on associated accounts

Associated Accounts can be used in reporting to analyze learning activity by account.

In the reporting engine, associations are available as:

  • Filter conditions
  • Output columns in Course and Learning Path reports

This allows you to generate reports such as:

  • Learners who attended content linked to a specific account
  • Courses or learning paths associated with a given partner or sponsor

Permissions

To manage Associated Accounts, users must have:

  • Course Template – Edit permission
  • Learning Path – Edit permission
  • Account – View permission
