Thanks for sharing your idea with us! We'd love to learn a bit more to understand your needs better. Could you help us by answering a few quick questions?

    1. What problem are you trying to solve by sending communication x months after a student's registration?
    2. How are you doing this today?
    3. What messages would you want to send, and at what points?

    Thanks again for posting!

    Love this idea!

Having the same offset options as with event start/end for registration date would be amazing.

Great idea Rosie! This would really improve communications throughout their studies.

    Hi Hisham Arnaout

Rosie may have different scenarios in mind, but for me:

We sell some events which are flexible and would want to send-out progress checkpoint emails. These events are currently setup as single-day events, with the start and end date at the end of the year. Customers can book onto the event at any point before the end date, and take their exam on-demand at a time which suits them.

The ADM event start/end date is simply the point where we withdraw the event from sale. The customer start date is actually the registration date.

We want to be able to send check-in emails, eg two weeks after a student has been registered, a trigger which tells them that they should be up to X point in the content by now and to let us know if they need help if they're not yet.

Currently, we have scheduled report triggers providing the student names and email addresses on a daily basis, showing us all students with a registration date 14 days before, and will send emails manually to the contacts in the report.

Matt has nailed it! Here is my response too, but repeats some of Matt's requirements:

    1. What problem are you trying to solve by sending communication x months after a student's registration?

We have a serious issue with students enrolling on a time-bound online course, and not knowing when it will end. So, at the 12 month expiry point they are no longer able to access their course materials on our virtual learning environment, and haven’t had any comms to forewarn them their course will expire on x date (the expiry is 12 months from registrations). This causes students to get upset and request extensions on their course access, which means we lose revenue, since they don’t purchase another course. If we could send an email 3, 6, 9 months from the date they booked the online course, we could give them enough notice that the course will expire on x date, and therefore they can manage their time better and get in touch with us sooner to let us know if their study plan is off track.

    1. How are you doing this today?

    We can’t so we aren’t.

    1. What messages would you want to send, and at what points?

2 weeks after registration: How are you getting on with your studies? Have you started your study plan? Reminder of tutor contact details for support.

1 month after registration: You’re 1 month into your studies, let us know how you’re getting on.

3 months after registration: How are you getting on with your studies, have you booked your exam yet?

6 months after registration: You have 6 months left to access this course. Get in touch with us if you need help planning out your study time.

9 months after registration: You have 3 months’ access remaining. After x date you will no longer be able to access your online course. If you do not finish your course before this time, you can purchase access via these methods:….

11 months and 2 weeks after registration: In 2 weeks you will no longer have access to your course. Not passed your exam yet? Get in touch with us to find out how we can support you.
