Sending addresses define the “from” details used in Administrate communications. Configure at least one email sending address before using Triggers.

Overview
Sending addresses support both Email and SMS. In the Control Panel, use the tabs to switch between email sending addresses and SMS sending numbers.
Email sending addresses
Email sending addresses are the email addresses your recipients see messages coming from (for example, training@yourcompany.com). These are typically addresses on your organization’s domain.
Requirements and validation
- You must validate an email sending address before it can be used.
- Email sending addresses can’t be deleted once created, and the email address itself can’t be changed—double-check spelling before saving.
- If you need to retire an address, rename it (for example, Do not use) so it’s clearly excluded from future use.
Add an email sending address
- Go to Communications (or equivalent) and open Sending Addresses.
- On the Email tab, select Add.
- In Name, enter the display name recipients will see as the sender.
- In Address, enter the email address to send from.
- Select Save.
Validate an email sending address
After saving, Administrate sends a verification email to the address you added. Open the email and follow the verification link, then return to Sending Addresses and confirm the address shows as verified.
- If you don’t see the verification email, check spam/junk folders and allow email from support@getadministrate.com.
SMS sending numbers
SMS sending numbers are used to send text messages from Administrate to contacts who have a valid mobile number on their record.
Mobile number format requirement
To send SMS successfully, the contact’s Mobile field must be in international format (E.164), including a leading + and country code.
- US example: 8887776666 becomes +18887776666
- UK example: 07777888999 becomes +447777888999
Add an SMS sending number
Your SMS sending number is generated when you create it.
- Go to Sending Addresses and select the SMS tab.
- Select Add.
- In Name, enter a reference name for internal use.
- In Friendly SMS Name, enter the sender name recipients will see (where supported).
- Select a Country to issue the number from (for example, United Kingdom for +44).
- Select Save.
If you use alphanumeric sender IDs for the friendly name, confirm destination-country support and restrictions in your SMS provider guidance.
Sending SMS to Singaporean phone numbers
Singapore requires additional registration for some business SMS use cases. If you need to send SMS to Singaporean numbers, contact Support to help you set up the required sender ID/registration for your account.
