Sending Addresses
Sending Addresses can be Email or SMS Numbers (Short Message Service).
You can switch between the Email and SMS views by clicking on the appropriate tab.
Email Sending Addresses
These are the email addresses from which your communications will appear from, e.g. training@your_company.com. Think of this as the email address the recipient will see when they receive the communication. These email addresses are usually from your own organization’s domain. For example, your company’s name is EveryOne Training and you have an email address, info@everyonetraining.com: the everyonetraining.com is your domain.
You’ll need to set up at least one Sending Address in order to use the Communication Triggers.
Whenever you add a Sending Address, these have to be validated before they can be used. Validating is required to reduce the risk of your company sending out emails from an incorrect address (e.g. a typo) and from Administrate being used to send spam emails.
Sometimes your emails will end up in your customer’s junk/spam inbox. To remedy this, please see Why don’t my emails appear to be sent by the Sending Address I specified?
Please also see our overall Communication Triggers Documentation.
Setting up an Email Sending Address
To set up an Email Sending Address:
Add Email Sending Address
- Click , this will open a dialog box.
- In Name, give the Sending Address a name: this is who the email will appear from when communication is sent, e.g. your company name, your department name, your instructor’s name, etc.
- In Address, enter the email address you wish your communications to appear from.
- Click
Sending addresses can't be deleted once created, and the email address can't be changed. Please check the spelling of the email address before clicking 'Save'.
In the rare case that you want to retire a sending address, we recommend renaming it (for example, "do not use"). That can be done by editing the sending address, changing the name, and saving it.
Your Sending Address will be added to the table with a Verified status of ‘No’. This means the Sending Address has yet to be validated.
Validate Email Sending Address
Check the mailbox for the Sending Addresses added above. An email should’ve arrived from support@getadministrate.com, so please make sure emails from this address are allowed to arrive in your inbox. If you don’t see this email, please check your junk or spam folder (or equivalent).
- Open the validation email from your email client and click on the link to verify your email address.
- Confirm a message saying your sending address has been verified.
- Go back to Sending Addresses in the Control Panel and confirm your Verified status is now ‘Yes’.
Now that your email address has been validated, you can now start sending communications from this Email Sending Address.
SMS Sending Numbers
You can use the SMS Sending Numbers to send text messages to your intended recipients.
Adding an SMS Sending Number
Your SMS Sending Number is generated each time you add one.

- Click , this will open a dialog box.
- In Name, give the SMS Sending Address a name: this is for your own reference only.
- In Friendly SMS Name, give the SMS a mobile-friendly name: this will be the name the SMS will appear to be sent by, e.g. your company name, your department name, your instructor’s name, etc. If using alphanumeric characters for your Friendly SMS Name, please check Twilio's guidelines for your intended destination countries.
- Choose a Country to specify the country code from where the number will be issued from. e.g. United Kingdom for +44.
