Improving MS Teams Integration + Calendar Sync
There are currently two useful features available on Administrate:
- Instructor Calendar Synchronization: the ability to sync instructors’ calendars with ADM, so you can view their availability and block off dates when they’re assigned to events. This feature works very well; for each session in an event’s outline, a block is created in the calendar containing information such as event name, type, location, etc.
- Synchronization via Teams integration: this feature allows you to create a meeting directly in Teams and obtain the link to the virtual classroom. This feature also works, but unfortunately it only creates the meeting for the first session of the event (the meeting is not created for the dates of subsequent sessions in the case of events lasting multiple days)
The first suggestion for improvement is: would it be possible to create a Teams meeting that would also be valid for any sessions held after the first day of the event?
Furthermore, this feature would be even more streamlined if it could be integrated with the instructor calendar feature.
Currently, if we were to invite a instructor to the Teams meeting created through the integration, they would end up with two separate calendar entries: one created through calendar synchronization, and the other with the link to the Teams virtual meeting.
The second request for improvement would therefore be: wouldn’t it be ideal if we could create a single calendar entry so that the instructor has all the information, including the link to access the virtual meeting, in the same calendar entry?
