Learning Paths - event triggers (on registration) not firing - a bug 'fix' which causes issues
We use Learning Paths to create product bundles for sale through our website, eg a single product including a tuition and revision course, rather than booking them separately, to allow a discount to be applied by Administrate.
These learning paths are only 2-3 courses long and book students onto specific events. To date, the fact that the initial welcome emails would be sent on registration was perfect: students would get their course dates just like every other student who had bought products separately: at the point of booking.
However, it has been deemed a bug which needed to be fixed, without considering that this was appropriate for some customers.
What this means is that our students booked onto learning paths don't receive the intended welcome emails that we have set-up. We could set-up a new trigger for the learning path itself, but you can't pull the dates from all the events into one email - the template doesn't know that you're trying to grab data across multiple events.
A suggestion: when creating a learning path, have a tick-box that you can check if you do not want triggers from the included events to be fired. That way, everyone can be happy.
Our only solution at the moment is to manually send comms by clicking through the communication tab of each event, which defeats the purpose of the trigger function.
