Students on restricted sessions
Some of our events are modular, where the overall event is sold as a unit, but also students can attend just the first few days as an introduction (with a different name), and occasionally the last few days as an advanced course if they're already experienced.
Currently we have to run this as three separate events, ideally we'd like to be able to place students just on a selection of sessions.
Not a small change I imagine, and would impact pricing, opportunities (and session titles ideally) but having sessions available and not being able to place students on only some of them is tantalisingly close to perfect.

Hi Tom,
Thanks for the suggestion. As you mention, quite a few things to consider when putting students on specific sessions rather than the whole event. It is not something we are planning on working on at the moment, however, it sounds like Learning Paths may be of interest to you. Have you played around with them at all?
Many thanks

We did go all the way down that path during UAT, but the complexities of getting them to do what we want proved just a step too far. While it would probably have been possible, we needed to schedule the overall event in our timetable for the website, adjust the certificates and emails so they only got a single copy for both child events with the learning path title on it etc. Basically all the problems that putting someone on a set of sessions would cause, but having to do it from outside the main system.
Most people attend the full set, it's only one or two out of a group who do a partial attendance, so that's what we market and sell. We want the full event to be the visible part to the students, not a pair/group of smaller events that they're probably not heard of.
