We would like to see this as well. We also liked when the public courses showed in the list in a different colour from in-house courses. Makes it so much quicker to find events.

Yes please, I have to agree - this would make it so much easier - thanks! Agree with Angela's idea too.

I agree with all of the above.

Overall the event view looks cluttered. There are two many columns, many of which could be displayed using a color code like in the old system. or clumped into one box (i.e. booked, reserved, interested, max and start and end date). In addition booked and max could be displayed as 6/10.

The box for the course title is also too small. If you do the above, you would have more room for this.

I agree with the above. The new view is just a confusing mass of information. It is very difficult to use quickly. The old system with colours and grouped into months was so much clearer and easier to see what was what at a glance.

I completely agree with everything mentioned above. When trying to find a class I cannot simply glance at the correct month and type (Public/Private) to find it.

When you have to reference classes all day/every day this new way of searching can become time consuming and rather annoying.

    1) It's Day 2 of ForgeRock using the New Events System and the lack of distinction between the months and Private/Public classes has well and truly lost its charm.

    2) I cannot just glance at the upcoming schedule and locate the class I'm looking for, I have to sit there and slowly scroll through the mass of text trying to get my head around why it's so crammed together.

     3) We use the American date format and it takes my poor brain a while to figure our whether 10/08/16 is 10th August or 8th October, I realise our using the US format is not your fault, but the month by month breakdown would certainly help solve the mystery.

     4) I can no longer right click on an Event and 'Open in New Tab' thus meaning that I cannot view several different Events and find the info I want...I have to open each one individually/one at a time...and when I want to go back and view my previously selected search options it takes me back to the default search.

    5) I cannot quick search ALL of our, for example, Beta classes...I used be be able to select 'All' as the date range and use the cmd+F shortcut to locate all of our Beta classes, or all of our Asia-Pac classes etc etc (the events are now listed over multiple pages, rather than one big page)

    6) The Old Events System may have had its faults but at least the events schedule did the job it was meant to.

    7) Please please please can something be done about this soon…it’s taking me far too long to do the most simple tasks.

    8) I cannot understand why the elements of the Event System that worked were removed. I’m all for aesthetics but the UX and UI needs to be taken in to account.

    9) I am tempted to write a letter to the Old Events System and apologise for 'breaking up' with it and say that I'm sorry, and that I should have been more grateful etc etc

    10) One last thing: A task that should have taken me 1/2 hour has now taken me almost 90 minutes.

    Hi Lo,

I've been using the system for a while and found a few tricks to help with your points.

1 & 2) Whilst a quick view is not ideal have you tried using the calendar to locate your event? Its a much more pleasant view for locating from a large number of events. That being said one improvement here administrate can do is to add a scale-able calendar picker similar to that in the overall actual calendar (so that we can zoom out to select a specific month rather than scroll through month on month).

    3) There is an option within the company setup to change locale. If you changed this to US would this resolve your issues?

    4) Tip for you here. Press CTRL and left click on the event. It will open the window in a new tab the same as right click (if not a bit quicker!)

    5) Searching for future events can be done by searching for courses and using the code in the global search function. Otherwise could you not use the course box to search for the course template Beta classes (could also search by region, location or course category) and then change your time period to all?

For your remainder points I've found a few issues that can be avoided:

    1. The new quick session edit is a huge time-saver. It does include the number of sessions that you've stated in the course template so if you want to avoid weekends (as we often do) you could for example - remove all entries from the 6th day onwards, set the 6th day to the first day of the week then add sessions as it will sequentially add new dates from the last session you set. Previously i'd be changed start and end times for each day which took up time.
    2. Whilst this may not be suitable in all scenarios, I've noticed an annoying bug where sessions don't seem to update all the information. I've attributed this to the fact that anything added to a new course when it still draft followed by you setting the event to active doesn't carry over (i.e location or venue etc). The trick here is to enter the course template then set the event to active and then add the rest of the information. I believe Administrate are working on fixing this so shouldn't be a long term issue.

I originally disliked all the new changes but as fixes have been applied and I've began to use it more and more I'm finding the system to be a nice improvement especially post scheduling. Stick with it and lean on the support team! They've provided considerable advice to me over the past few months.

Just as additional ideas on thinking:

    1. It would be great if we could set a default view for events screen. I am aware we can limit the number of months but having it default to say all public in a set time frame would be useful.
    2. In terms of separating by months, I would be quite happy with a single month pagination function or basically a view that shows all events in a single month.

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a go. I know most big changes take a while to get used to, and hopefully most of my bugbears will disappear as time goes on. I do still miss the month breakdown though.

    Hi Lo,

    Another Idea.

Have you considered building a report and having this as your main point for viewing events? You could section this month on month.

We've done this as a reference point for our sales team to quickly glance upcoming events and attendance numbers.

It will also allow you to set which output columns you want to see and how everything is formatted (session included or excluded etc.)

Bit of a workaround of course but anything to make our lives (and jobs!) easier!

    Hey Paul,

Gilles has just pointed me in the direction of the reports. Thanks again for you help.

Definitely agree with event list to look more like the old legacy system and for it to include the classrom start/finish dates when the event is blended.

Would love to hear from the administrate team if they have made any progress with this.
