    Your item number four is of great interest to us, both to use as a Merge Field, but also to have the ability to use Financial Data as a Trigger field too.

    We have found that the communication trigger set up for all of our courses still gets sent out when the course has been cancelled. Does anyone have answers on this one please?

    I've logged a support bug for the communication trigger being sent out when courses are cancelled, and I believe Administrate have a fix for this on the way.

    It would be really useful to be able to separate communications according to event types as we send very different emails to our students depending upon the event type.

    Please also add to this list a way to not send the trigger if the event is provisional and then send it once it is not provisional.  Lots of times I am booking an event and I am not ready to send out a trigger email when it is provisional.  Also # 2 is very important. An email for an IHT is very different than an email for a Public Event.

    Our biggest bug bear is communication triggers for public versus IHT  We have had to create triggers for both and both of them show up for every course.  It's very easy to send the wrong one by accident!  It should be so easy to separate the two.  Then we'd have many different triggers - some applicable to public training and some to IHT. It seems to be possible to do this for workflows - so triggers should surely  be possible too?

    I'd like it to be possible to have a CC address on communications triggers so that when a template email is sent automatically it also cc's a set email address.

    Adding a comment again since this still hasn't been looked and and should be an easy fix.

    Please help us differentiate between IHT and public training triggers.  We can't use the same communication triggers.  This is my biggest wish ADM folk!!!  It stops us sending out automated emails - so pretty much all sent are manual (just sent one week reminder to 40 people (2 courses - both in house) and had to edit every single one to take out text that relates to public training!!).  Really time consuming.  Really, really would like to see this addressed.

    We've rolled out many updates to the Communication Triggers since this idea was first raised:

    1. Triggers (Targets) It would be useful here to be able to eliminate (M) events

    This can be achieved by using the Course target then selecting the Course or Courses that the trigger applies to.

    2. Triggers (Course) It would be useful here to be able to choose from either IHT or Public courses

    This is now possible with the Event Type option found on the Communication Trigger Page

    3. Triggers (Trigger) It would be really useful to add Cancelled Course as a trigger option

    When cancelling an event in the new event system you're given the option to notify your students and/or personnel.  It's not a timed trigger as such however you can select to send any existing communication template to notify the interested parties.

    There's still a couple of ideas in the original post that have not yet made it on to our roadmap but I wanted to share progress thus far.

    I'd like to add a suggestion here.  

    We send our students an automated reminder when it is time for them to rebook.  We do this 3 times in the run up to their certificate expiry currently, although we would like to increase that frequency. 

    Can you make the system intelligent enough to recognise when a student has re-booked a course of the same type as previously, and therefore cancel all future communications attached to their previous event?  

    Otherwise, as currently, if they re-book when we remind them, they are still sent further automated reminders to re-book!  Which just causes annoyance at best.

    That's a good idea - I can think of two ways to achieve that:

    1) Use learning tracks - this may be possible immediately, I'm not sure - it's a system that recognises when trainees have competed actions though so may be usable here, but you might have to create a workaround that is more awkward than useable!

    2) Be able to use automated triggers to create a new opportunity after someone has completed a course (functionality that sounds useful if it doesn't already exist - we don't have the same certificate expiry driver that you do so I've never looked at this), plus being able to have communication triggers set from opportunities. Then when they book, the opportunity closes and communication triggers relating to the opportunity become null

    Hi ADM, any update on this at all?  My request from over a year ago still stands and would really improve the marketing power of comms triggers.
