This is a very good idea.
It will allow us to merge the existing System Fields data with new custom fields which we might use to re-define previous system fields which were not matching what we exactly need.

i.e.: We will filter for all contacts whose system field "Job Title" contains Finance, and then we will update the a custom field which we'd created "Job Role" which includes different options to read the "Finance" selection.
You could then add the ability to Disable or Enable certain system fields similar to what you could do with Zendesk, except for the core Fields like the Name and e-mail.

Same- I think this would make a real impact on usability especially when dealing with a large database where effective cleansing of data is imperative.

I can see that there has been fair support for this suggestion - do you have any plans?

Same here. You already have a way to filter the records, using the new reporting system

Why has there been no response on this?

At least a comment saying if it is or isn't planned or even being thought about?

    Hi Julie,

I'm not sure why nobody has responded to this, sorry about that!

Currently, we're focused on some really big enhancements to our event management system, and after that we'll focus on the CRM, which is what this feature request is focused on.  We agree that it would be a great idea, but we won't probably get to it for another 6 months or so.

This idea has been closed out due to inactivity.

If you have stumbled across the request and believe it would still be valuable today, first search to make sure the idea hasn’t already been reopened, then create a new one. Remember to provide as much detail as possible as this will help other users see the value of your idea and vote on it.
