Introduction
Every Portal, regardless of type (LMS, WebLink, or other future applications), is associated with a Brand which identifies it and segments the user accounts within it. This offers significant flexibility in communicating your own branding identity to users, or a white labelled experience for a subset of your customers.
Tip: A branding configuration can be associated with multiple types of portals, ensuring that when linked (e.g. WebLink embedded in the LMS), the look and feel is cohesive for the end user. Take caution when modifying the settings as they will update in all linked portals.
Styling Options
All of the styling is configured centrally within the TMS and although more limited than a completely open CSS stylesheet, it's been designed to support future functionality in the Portals, which means changes are easier to make and maintain.
Images
The primary mechanism for styling your Brand comes from the visual identity that you convey with the images you supply for the Brand. These include:
- Sign In Background - the image users see when first logging into the portal (unless a SSO integration is configured).
- Logos - Both a large and small logo, highlighted on various screens in the portals.
- Course & Learning Path images, used on "cards" to help users identify the learning content.
- Favicon - The tiny image which shows in your browser tab identifying the website.
All of the images are stored within the DMS.
Colors
Colors can be specified for text (both dark on light and light on dark), buttons (primary and secondary), and main interface colors (primary and secondary).
We recommend testing your color choices with an accessibility checker like WebAIM to ensure there is sufficient contrast for users with visual impairments.
Typefaces
The portals support out of the box browser fonts and web fonts. Google Fonts has an excellent collection of web fonts which are freely available.
