SANDBOX EXERCISE PROCEDURES
Your Journey:
This is Step 5 of 5 setup tasks that will get you to Your 1st Event:

Procedure:
Use these desktop procedures to get your first event up and running as soon as possible.
- NOTE: This follows steps in the demonstration video exactly; if you get stuck, refer back to the video for visual support.

Task sixteen: create your new event using your Making Great Salsa course template
- Click Events in the upper left and select Events from the dropdown menu that results
- Click the green Create Event button in the upper right
- Click into the Course field and type making
- Click Making Great Salsa from the dropdown that results
- Click into the Location field and select Toronto
NOTE:
Both Tax Type and Time Zone automatically fill in as a result of the location selection. - Click into the Venue field and select Salsero Headquarters
- Scroll down to the Classroom Start field, click into it, and select a Monday approximately one month in the future
- Scroll back up, and click Active under the Status header on the right
- Click the green Create button in the upper right

Task seventeen, add an instructor the the event
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen
- Click the blue Add button on the right under the Personnel header and select Instructor from the dropdown
- Click to check the box to the left of Tricia Yardling
- Click the blue Add to All Sessions button

Task eighteen: add a student to the event
- Click the Students tab at the top center of the page
- Click the green Add Student button on the right
- Click into the Contact field and type Freddy
- Select Freddy Mantle from the dropdown
- Scroll to the bottom of the dialogue and click the blue Save button
Now we’ll manage the student on the event:

Task nineteen: Verify student communications:
- From the Event \ Students tab, scroll down to the middle of the screen and click Communications
NOTE:
On Registration triggered emails are considered “priority” and run every 5 minutes; you may need to wait 5 minutes, and then reload the page to verify their send has occurred.
- Click the communications header once again
- Click the green DELIVERED indicator under the salsa-join header
- Review the message to ensure all merge field logic is working as expected
- Click Cancel to close the email
- Navigate to the email recipient’s inbox, and verify the email message there as well
- From the Event \ Students tab, scroll down to the middle of the screen and click Communications

Task twenty, update student attendance:
- Return to the page you left off on in the TMS: the Events \ Students page
- Click the Options dropdown on the right side of the Students header
- Click Record Attendance from the dropdown that results
- Click the top boxes to the right of Set All to make all boxes in every row turn green with checkboxes, meaning Freddy had perfect attendance
- Click the blue OK button

Task twenty-one, verify student achievement
- Click the Achievements tab at the top center of the page
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen to the Results header, and verify that your student now shows:
- Result = PASS
- Making Great Salsa AUTO has a checkmark
You have successfully completed running your event, including creating an event, adding a student, and managing a student. You’ve successfully completed this training demonstration. Click back to return to the event menu and continue learning.
