SANDBOX EXERCISE PROCEDURES
Your Journey:
This is Step 4 of 5 setup tasks that will get you to Your 1st Event:

Your Procedure:
Working in your sandbox environment, use the following procedures to configure background setting elements.
NOTES:
Use these desktop procedures to get your first event up and running as soon as possible.
- NOTE: This follows steps in the demonstration video exactly; if you get stuck, refer back to the video for visual support.

Task thirteen: configure a sending address, which we’ll associate with the communication so that recipients reply to the right place
- Click the Control Panel cog
- Click the Sending Addresses icon under the Communications header
- Click the green Add button
- Type the name Mia Barbeau - Salsero Training in the Name field
- Type the email address into the address field
NOTE: you need to be able to click the verification link that gets sent, so use an email address you have access to
*For your training exercise purpose, use the email address associated with your sandbox
ja+mbarbeau@getadministrate.com
- Click the green Save button

- Navigate to the inbox for the email address you used, and click the verification link
- Return to the TMS Sending Addresses dialogue and refresh the screen, which will now say “Yes” next to your newly created Mia Barbeau - Salsero Training

Task fourteen: configure your communication template, which identifies the audience and merge field logic so it can be sent out to multiple students at once
- Click the Control Panel cog
- Click the Communications Template icon
- Click the Create Template button and click User from the dropdown that results
- Type Making Great Salsa - Registration Confirmation into the Template Name field
- Click into the Audience field and select Students
- Click into the Language field and select English
- Click into the Subject field
- Type the title into the Subject field:

*This includes a merge field, which we’ll show you how to create in a moment. - Navigate to a message we’ve created for you in the procedure .pdf on this event and copy it:
Hello MERGE FIELD,
Thank you for your successful registration! We can’t wait to see you at your upcoming training event at {{ delegate.event.venue.name }}. Here are the details:
Event Title: MERGE FIELD
Address: {{ delegate.event.venue.description }}
Date: {{ delegate.event.classroom_start_tz | date_format(tz=delegate.event.tz_name, locale='en-US') }}

Salsero Training
- Return to the TMS, and paste the message content into the message body
- Select “Keep” to keep the copied material’s formatting in place
NOTE: we’ve updated several of the merge fields for you already, but we’ll update a couple ourselves now:
- Delete MERGE FIELD next to Hello at the top of the message
- Click the M at the far right of the message editor to open the Merge Field dialogue
- Click Contact at the top of the column
- Click First Name in the second column to highlight it green
- Click Add in the bottom right
- Delete MERGE FIELD next to Event Title
- Click the M at the far right of the message editor
- Click Event at the top of the column
- Type title in the search bar at the top of the second column
- Click Title at the bottom of the second column to highlight it green
- Click Add in the bottom right
- Click the Save button

Task fifteen: configure your communication trigger so the message is sent to students immediately following their successful registration
- Click the Control Panel cog
- Click the Triggers icon under the Communications header
- Click Add on the right
- Type Making Great Salsa - Registration Confirmation into the Trigger Name field
- Type salsa-reg in the Abbreviation field
- Click into the Template field and select the Making Great Salsa - Registration Confirmation template
- Click into the Target field and select Course from the dropdown
- Click the Add Courses button and select Making Great Salsa from the list of Courses that results
- Click Add Courses
- Click into the From field and Select Mia Barbeau - Salsero Training
- Click Yes under Automatic, and No under Disabled
- Click into the Trigger Field and select On Registration from the dropdown
- Click into the Audience field and select Students from the dropdown
- On the far right, toggle both Classroom and Blended from No to Yes so that Making Great Salsa events in either learning mode get this communication
- Scroll back to the top of the screen and click the Save button
