Courses are the training products that you offer, the catalogue of courses and training from which you create Events . A single Course can be created as either Public or Private in any Location . To do this, you’ll need to create a Course Template.
A Course Template serves 3 main functions:
- Stores default values for each Course e.g. time/duration to save time when creating Events
- Takes the course information and generates a PDF brochure that can be given to prospects
- With website integration enabled, your website will synchronise and display the course information entered in it
The Course Templates serve both offline training (your Public and Private Events) and online with the LMS (Learning Management System) . You will see LMS-specific entries in the form of LMS Summary and LMS Resources in the Course Template.
|Course Code:||Each Course must have a code. Codes should be memorable: various areas of Administrate reference and display the Event’s Course Code rather than the Event Title.|
|Short Code:||Can be used to signify a variation of a standard course e.g. when a client requires the Course content to be tweaked to fit their requirements.|
|Archived:||Events will no longer be able to be created from this Course, and removes the it from your website if using website integration, such as the WordPress Plugin or WebLink .|
Disposition only applies to the legacy Events System . This setting does not apply to events created in the new Events System (available since late 2015). Events created in the new Events System can be designated to run over consecutive or non-consecutive days within the Event Outline tab.

The text that will be displayed for the Course on the LMS Homepage when a student logs in. Usually used to introduce the Course or provide Course-specific information. See the LMS documentation for more details.
|LMS Course Resources:|
Provides links of your choice, e.g. your company or external training material for the LMS Course. The format for each link should be entered as <link name> | <link address> . For example:
Administrate | http://www.getadministrate.com
See the LMS documentation for more details.
This refers to the type of survey which will be associated with your events. You can select either the default Administrate survey, or a SurveyMonkey survey. If you choose to use SurveyMonkey survey you will be able to select the specific survey you wish to associate with your events.
In the Schedule tab, you will be able to specify a default Learning Mode and Schedule for the events on your course. These defaults will be applied when you schedule sessions for your events. You will be able to modify these later. For more information see our documentation on Events
Disposition only applies to the legacy Events System. The Course Disposition determines how the Course is delivered. There are three dispositions:
A Normal course would be delivered over consecutive working days. An example could be a 3 day course from Monday to Wednesday or a 10 day course from Monday to Friday over 2 weeks (excluding the weekend as non-working days). When scheduling a Normal event the end date is calculated automatically based on the start date plus the “No. of Days” (number of days) defined in the course template. When a student registers for a normal event they are assumed to register for all days of the normal event.
A Multi-session course would be delivered over non-consecutive days. An example could be an 5 day course that is delivered each Monday for 5 weeks or a course that runs on various days over various weeks. When scheduling a Multi-Session event you’re required to select the days that the event will be held on. When a student registers for a Multi-Session event they can either attend all sessions or a pick certain sessions.
A Compound course is a ‘bundle’ of any number of Normal and/or Multi-Session courses. Compound courses have their own price which allows you to sell the bundle of courses at a lower price than a student would pay if registering for each course individually. When creating a compound course you will be asked to link the ‘child’ courses that comprise the compound course. Students may register for the compound and therefore all linked child courses or just register for the child courses separately.

Then click the Options dropdown and select Delete. Note, to prevent errors, if you have already associated an event with a course that you wish to delete then you can only archive it, not delete it. This will mean you can no longer create events associated with this course, and it will prevent it removes it from your website if using website integrations, such as the WordPress Plugin or WebLink . However, the course will still appear on the Course Template List screen with an ‘Archived’ status. You have the option to Unarchive a course and return it to Draft status if you wish.
